Linda Mae (Reid) Capps, of Mount Vernon passed away on June 1, 2024 at her home. She was born November 3, 1942 in Centralia, Illinois to the late Wanda and Raymond Reid. Linda married Marvin Ray Capps on July 20, 1958.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Cheryl and David Johnson of Athens, Alabama, Mark and Donna Capps of Farina, Illinois, Barbara and Kerry Richardson of Opdyke, Illinois, Steven and Leslie Capps of Mount Vernon, and Eric and Natalie Capps of Collinsville, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Jeanetta and Frank Wangler.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Capps; sisters, Sharon Silliman and Carol Cole; and brothers, Richard Reid and Larry Reid.
A private burial will be held at Belle Rive Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Linda's honor to the charity of the donor's choice.
