Michael "Mike" Shannon O'Dea, Jr., 72, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 2:03 pm June 14, 2024 at Helia Healthcare of Benton in Benton, Illinois. He was born August 15, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois to Michael Shannon O'Dea, Sr. and Margie Louise (Ross) Womack. Mike married Vickie Lynn (Mayo) O'Dea on July 17, 1980.
In addition to his beloved wife of nearly forty-four years, Mike is survived by his children, Michael Shannon O'Dea III and wife, Janice of Longview, Texas and Christopher Shawn O'Dea of Murray, Kentucky; grandson, Matthew O'Dea; brothers, John Womack of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Eric Womack and wife Jolyn of Sesser, Illinois; and nephews, Justin Womack and wife, Bree and Joshua "Josh" Womack.
Mike was preceded in death by his step father who raised him, Glenn Womack, Jr.; mother, Margie Womack; paternal grandfather, Riley Ross; paternal grandmother, Rebecca Rose Cassada Ross; paternal step- grandmother, Amanda Cassada Pitman Ross; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
