Joyce M. Somers, 85, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 11:27 pm July 2, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 23, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to the late Harry R. and Norma M. (Troue) Davison. Joyce married Lindel Somers on February 27, 1960 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with forty-eight years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 29, 2009. They are now joined together in the arms of the Lord.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Michael L. Somers and Mark L. Somers and significant other, Laura, all of Mount Vernon; sisters, Jean Ann Outland of McKinney, Texas and Joette Rider of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Lindsay Janovsky and husband, Adam, Randi Walker, and Tyler Shelton, all of Mount Vernon; great-grandchildren, Conner and Elias Egbert and Felix and Jules Allali, all of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by sister, June Claus.
