James F. Bell, 80, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 7:22 pm August 18, 2024 at his residence. He was born February 23, 1944 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Kenneth and Ruth (Badgett) Bell. James married Dixie (Story) Bell on December 4, 1971.
In addition to his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Jim is survived by his several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth and Richard Bell.
James owned and operated Bell Lock and Key Service for many years. He also had worked as a Green Keeper for several area golf courses and was an avid golfer. Jim was a member of Saint Mary Immaculate Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
A Visitation will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 am with Father Steve Pautler and Deacon Mark Kabat officiating. Inurnment will follow at Saint Mary's Cemeter
