Zachary W. Pemberton, 33, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 3:21 am January 7, 2025 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born August 26, 1991 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Chris and Bethany (Diehl) Pemberton. Zach married the love of his life, Alicia "Lish" Cole on April 7, 2022 and she survives. He very much enjoyed getting to join the "Cole" family.
One of Zach's passions was cooking. He loved creating special dinners and cooking with his wife. Zach enjoyed working at many of the restaurants in town. He grilled a mean steak and especially loved creating the spiciest BBQ and hot sauces. The world will be a little blander without him cooking.
In addition to his best friend and wife, Alicia, Zach is survived by his children, Silas Pemberton, Abigail Sevcik, and Sara Barrett; mother and father-in-law, Kim Olivier and Ray Cole, Jr.; sisters, Aimee (Matt) Fletcher, Amanda (Isaac) Franklin, and Annie (Dave) Lowery; aunts and uncles, Greg and Mary Jo Pembe
