Melissa L. Pemberton, 61, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 1:30 pm January 9, 2025 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born June 30, 1963 in Mount Vernon to the late Frederick Arthur and Constance Jean (Edelman) Pemberton. Melissa married Cathy Provines on March 15, 2008 and she survives.
In addition to her beloved wife, Melissa is survived by her brothers, Greg Pemberton and wife, Mary Jo of Mount Vernon and Bruce Pemberton of Grand Island, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Wayne Provines and wife, Cathy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Melissa was preceded in death by her brothers, Brian Pemberton, Steve Pemberton, and Christopher Pemberton; brother-in-law, Terry Provines; and nephew, Zach Pemberton.
Melissa was a member of the Sons and Daughters of the American Legion 48. She was of the Catholic faith. Melissa enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and sports, especially the Saint Louis Cardinals and Notre Dame football. She loved a
