Phyllis Marie Williams, 89, of Mt. Vernon passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.
She was born in Golconda, IL on December 1, 1935 the daughter of Albert & Dorothy (Taylor) Kerr.
She married Virgil Eugene "Deanie" Williams on September 24, 1954 at the 2nd Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Carl Whittington. Deanie preceded her in death on October 5, 2024.
Phyllis retired as Secretary from Bankers Life & Casualty in Mt. Vernon. She and her husband Deanie owned & operated Deanie's Flower Depot. She was an active member of East Salem Baptist Church.
