Jacqlyn M. "Jackie" Sharp, 74, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away January 16, 2025 peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was born December 21, 1950 in Midland, Texas to the late Charles Ray and Mildred (Houser) Risley. Jackie married Deon Sharp and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Jackie is survived by her son, Justin Riley and wife, Melanie; grandchildren, Allie Riley, Cassandra LaMar and husband, Josh, and Brendon Schettler; great-grandson, Ryatt LaMar; and several nieces and nephews. The family also wishes to acknowledge the caregivers who gave excellent care to Jackie: Yolanda, Monica, Donna, and Samantha.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Brumitt and husband, David and Janet Lewis and husband, Gary.
Jackie worked for the City of Mount Vernon, many of those years as City Clerk. She was also part owner of Sharps Foods in Mount Vernon. Jackie enjoyed being on the beach. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mo
