Our beloved matriarch, Rosa Maria Perez Figueroa (Rios), born on December 1, 1927, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, to Florentino Perez and Anita Figueroa Perez. She peacefully gained her wings on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 12:53 p.m., at the age of 97, surrounded by loved ones at the home of her granddaughter, Maria, in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
With a life full of love, wisdom and strength, Rosa touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, resilience and family devotion will live on in all of us.
In 1943, Rosa married the love of her life, Carmelo Rios, and together they created a beautiful family. They were blessed with seven children: Victor Rios (Miriam), Miguel Rios (Maria), Carmelo Rios (Noraida), Florentino Rios Perez (special daughter-In-law Mirna Gil), Lucy Perez Harck (Richard), Maria Dolores Sanchez, Wilberto Rios. Rosa AKA Abuelita had many grandchildren, great grandchildren And great-great grandchildren who love her very much.
