Sandra Kaye "Sandy" Applegate, 68, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 6:50 am March 15, 2025 at her home surrounded by family. She was born June 21, 1956 in Mount Vernon to the late Ralph Leroy and Florence Irene (Sutton) Overturf. Sandy first married Glen Allen Ashcraft on November 12, 1974. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1975. She later married Richard W. Applegate on October 5, 1979 in Mount Vernon. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2018.
Sandy is survived by her sons, Michael Wayne Applegate, Anthony Dwayne Applegate, Matthew Eugene Applegate, Bradley Andrew Applegate, and Jason Wade Applegate; grandchildren, Blayne Applegate-Riley, Parker Applegate, Austin Applegate, Dylan Applegate, Emma Applegate, Kevin Applegate, Lilly Applegate, Bradley Applegate, Chase Applegate, Abigail Applegate, Lucas Applegate, Nicholas Applegate, and Natalie Applegate; sister, Jan Wehlgemuth; and brother, Leroy Overturf and wife, Caroline.
