William Ed Whitlock, 56, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 2:53 am March 18, 2025 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born August 25, 1968 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to William Whitlock and Sharon (Moore) Rutherford. Ed married Debbie (Beal) Whitlock on December 6, 1991 in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-three years, Debbie Whitlock; mother, Sharon Rutherford; sons, William Ray Whitlock of Mount Vernon and Nathan Christopher Whitlock of Mount Vernon; daughter, Haylee Whitlock of Mount Vernon; twin granddaughters, Karsyn and Lennox Whitlock of Mount Vernon; brother, Jerry Rutherford, Jr. of Mount Vernon; sisters, Aletta Lawrence and husband, Mike of Mount Vernon and Stacy Spangler and husband, John of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, William R. Whitlock and step father, Jerry Rutherford.
Ed was a member of New Hope Webb Baptist Church and IBEW Local 702 Electrician Union
